Get This: Clairol Perfect 10 Haircolor...

I admit it...I dye my hair.  It started out as just a fun thing to do, now its is necessity!! Now that I am dying more often, I look for certain things in a home hair color as I certainly can't afford to go and get it done every 6 weeks.

    1. Hair color that isn't "flat"... I hate for my hair to look like someone colored it with a marker.
    2. Gray coverage...I don't have a lot but I don't want to see it pop out in 3 weeks either.
    3. Gentle formula...My hair is fragile enough as it is so I don't need for it to look fried.

Clairol Perfect 10 Haircolor does all of those things PLUS you get 6 weeks of weekly conditioning to keep your hair shiny.  The comb applicator was tricky to use at first BUT once I got the hang of it, it worked perfectly.  I LOVED that it didn't drip either.  The best thing of all though was that it worked in 10 minutes flat.  Not only did it work in 10 minutes BUT it covered everything.  The shade I used what Chocolate Shake (yummy...LOL).  Ugh...look at those roots!! There is no excuse for that kind of foolishness....

The color is great AND my hair is soft and shiny!  Clairol Perfect 10 is available at drugstores nationwide.

Spring 2009: Estee Lauder Fuchsia Now...

Brights...brights and more brights.  Love it or hate it, the bright makeup trend doesn't seem to be going anywhere anytime soon.  I do love that bright lips are sticking around...nothing better in the spring than a bright lip.  The nails are bright too..another trend that I am loving, after all of these dark eggplanty, chocolate shades I will be ready for a change come spring for sure.

    Esteelauderspring2009

As the cold, dark evenings of late winter turn to the warm, light days of spring and your social  calendar begins to fill with the promise of enchanted evenings spent outdoors, express your growing optimism for the season by infusing warm, captivating colors into your wardrobe. As seen on numerous runways for spring, muted, neutral tones combine with vibrant fuchsia and bold berry shades in geometric patterns and graphically stylized florals. A sultry use of sheer fabrics and soft, billowy silhouettes help temper the chic, hot shades of spring, for a look that is casually elegant, yet sophisticated.

Taking cues from the spring runways, Estée Lauder’s new, limited edition Fuchsia Now Color Collection is a feminine, flirty and fun color collection that encapsulates the trend of wearing bold color combined with soft neutrals. Fuschia Now contrasts light and bright, pairing warm honey and tender peach shades with vibrant fuchsia for a look that is flattering for every skin tone. Cheeks bloom with a hint of fresh color, while eyes allure in shades of deep indigo and rich earth tones. Lips are full, soft and lustrous and are enhanced by perfectly polished nails in complementary shades. Soft petal designs, featured in the collection’s powder compact and eye shadow palettes, highlight the vibrant fuchsia touches and reinforce the season’s upbeat and lighthearted mood

    Drugtore Diva: CoverGirl Outlast Lipstains...

If you are a regular reader, you KNOW I adore any kind of lip stain.  The best kind to have (in my opinion) are the marker types because you have more control in the way that they are applied.  In the summer (or if you are on vacation somewhere sunny), I usually only wear a lip stain topped with lipgloss and that's it.  When the gloss wears off you still have color on your lips....PLUS waterproof.  Brilliant....

    Ggoutlastlipstains

So imagine my shock & awe while I was in CVS the other day and I saw these new lip stains called Cover Girl’s Outlast Lipstain!  They were designed by legendary makeup artist Pat McGrath in 10 jawdropping shades (most of the time you only see 4 at the most even from higher end lines). So I grabbed a couple.  Here are the shades available:

    • Everbloom Kiss
    • Plum Pout
    • Bit of Blossom
    • Coy Coral
    • Berry Smooch
    • Wild Berry Wink
    • Teasing Blush
    • Flirty Nude
    • Sassy Mauve
    • Cinnamon Smile

I wore Cinnamon Smile (applied at 10 am) all day yesterday and still had color on after lunch and up to around 4 pm.  Cover Girl’s Outlast Lipstains are available now in  drugstore retailing at around $7.99.

    Clinique Dry Spot Balm...

Winter....winter...winter....I have poor circulation so I am ALWAYS cold so that means cranking the heat.  Unfortunately cranked heat means dry air, so I have to take certain precautions.  I have a humidifier so I don't dry out but that doesn't always work.  That's where products come in.  One that I discovered recently that I have been using is from Clinique's new medical line which available exclusively through dermatologsts.

    Clinique_med_dryspot

Clinique Medical, the new skin care line from Allergan and Clinique was created specifically for anyone who is planning to undergo a non-surgical cosmetic procedure or taking certain prescription medications.  I don;t fall into either of those categories BUT the Dry Spot Balm is certainly something that could be used on just about anyone. Formulated with marine botanicals it helped sooth while the six lipid complex helped block the windy weather and kept my lips soft and moisturized. Now a word of caution, if you are looking for a "sexy" lip balm this is not for you.  Clinique Medical products are decidely clinical in both taste, smell and feel.  I did find it (and the rest of the line) available through the Derm Store online as well.

Take Good Care: Bobbi Brown's Winter Skincare Essentials...

Is winter doing a number on your skin?  It is to mine, between hormonal breakouts on my chin (I pray I am going through "the change" soon) and wacky schizophrenic east coast weather, my skin is dare I say....confused at the moment.

    Feature_winterskincareessentials

I just took home a few of these Bobbi Brown Winter Essentials to try and get my skin back on track.  My favorite so far is the Intensive Skin Supplement, a serum with white birch (think tightening darlings), and grape extract (for brightening...which I so desperately need).  I also grabbed the Buffing Grains and started mixing it with my cleanser to make my own custom foaming exfoliator.  As you know, my feeling is the best makeup look is perfect skin...without that you can't go wrong.  I would much prefer people to say they love my skin more than they do my makeup.
