NYC Day 1: Prescriptives Counter at Bergdorf Goodman...

Hello my ladies!  I know I said i would update while I was gone but it was virtually IMPOSSIBLE!  I was running around far too much to plug in my laptop - I guess I need an iPhone...LOL.  Anyway, as soon as we got in I had an appointment to meet the PR rep from Prescriptives at the counter inside the Beauty Department at Bergdorf Goodman.  And first of all let me say, that if you haven't been there...you need to go it is an entire floor and you take the escalator down to beauty heaven.  Great makeup artists and also.... it's just pretty in there....so pretty.  At any rate, my friend Rachel and I got our makeup done and I got a chance to test drive the custom blended products.

There is something to be said for custom blending, it's personal, made just for you so there is no chance of it being too light or too dark etc.  If you have never had custom blend done before, I recommend that you check it out.  Currently they offer the following custom  blended items: tinted moisturizer (yaaayyy!!) , foundation, powder, bronzer, concealer, lipsticks and lip glosses.  Leticia was my custom blender and she did an AMAZING job of getting everything JUST RIGHT.  I got the face powder, bronzer and a lip gloss which was the most fun because you can choose your color AND a flavor (I got latte...yummy).  The face powder was exactly what I expected, silky smooth with amazing coverage.  But the best thing about it is that it disappears into my skin...not too light not too dark - just perfect.  I don't like looking like I have on a whole mess of makeup so this is perfect for me.  The Bronzer was equally as great - I do thing I will go back and have each one pressed into a compact though just for portability (oh yeah - they will do that too)

Custom blend products cost a little more but if you are in-between shades or you have ever had a hard time matching traditional makeup, this is DEFINITELY for you.  PLUS...you are on file and they can re-create it whenever you run out (how great is that??)  You can search for a store near you here that does custom blend, as not every Prescriptive counter is equipped to do so.

I remember custom-blending for customers...boo-hoo...(small tear)..it was so much fun...makes me miss the good old days!
