My Trip To Kiehl's...
Hey girls! Okay so on my whirlwind trip to NYC we had appointments at many places one of the was the flagship Kiehl's store on 3rd Avenue that has been in the same spot since what.....1851!!! Now if you know me, you know that I have had a love affair with Kiehl's for many many many years. I first discovered it when I was working for Clarins at the now defunct Barney's New York downtown store and I was in LOVE. Products that stood out to me and are still my all time CULT FAVES are Creme with Silk Groom, Gentle Foaming Cleanser and Blue Astringent which is AMAZING in the summer when you are feeling less than fresh in humid climates.
The store itself was amazing and the decor was a mix of masculine and feminine as evidenced by the vintage motorcycles and chandeliers. We got a great tour of this urban apothecary by Barbara and a history of the brand which was amazing. A HUGE thanks to Rachael, Kiehl’s PR rep for setting up such a wonderful look inside what actually makes Kiehl's tick. They don't advertise and have built a business solely on word of mouth...and since they have been around 157 years I think that says a lot.
Now onto my new favorite thing that I discovered while I was there! Kiehl's Ultra Facial Tinted Moisturizer is basically my new thing. I don't ever wear foundation (I just don't) but sometimes I do want a teeny bit more coverage, this does the job. If you are looking for something a little heavier than a moisturizer but lighter than a foundation with a touch of color this is it. Today I am wearing it with some of my Prescriptives custom blended loose powder on top. It feels lightweight like moisturizer but covers up little pimples as well as foundation does (plus it has SPF 15!).
With natural ingredients like Apricot Kernel Extract,
Chamomile, and Royal Jelly, it is gentle on your skin and gives you just enough color. This bottle will last forever because you only need a pea sized drop of the moisturizer to cover your entire face (I found this out the hard way and had too much left over so I had to wait a bit for it to sink in/dry before applying my powder). It comes in 3 shades - light, medium and dark (I am dark) so I don't think this would work all that well on darker skin tones (I asked about this when I was at Kiehl's and we will see what they can do about making some darker shades ladies!) But for now...I will take this for real. LOVE IT!
Retails for $24.50 at Kiehl's stores, Nordstrom and Neiman Marcus.
Moisturize Pretty!!

I love the Kiehl's flagship. My mom took me there when I was younger and I think...she told me there used to be a small stunt plane in there as well.
I'm sad I missed out on their pear flavored lipgloss...I love their baby lip balm to death.
I'm missed a chance to go there last time I was in nyc :(
