Barack & Michelle Obama Make History...

Last night something extraordinary happened, a nation came together and for the first time in history an African American has been elected to the highest office in America.  I never thought that it would happen in my lifetime or even in my child's lifetime.  Barack Obama is smart, funny, charming, he loves and adores his wife and family and oh ummm he actually cares about this country and what a sad state it's in.  No matter what they threw at him (uhhh terrorist?? Really?  Really people??), he stayed the course. 

My mom told me that 50 years ago, in certain states if you were African American in certain southern states they made you jump through all kinds of hoops in order to vote.  They made you guess impossible tasks like guessing how many jellybeans were in a jar, how many bubbles were in a bar of soap OR you had to take a literacy test!!  All of these things in just in order to VOTE which is your constitutional RIGHT as a citizen of this country.  The very steps that Obama will stand on to be sworn into office were built by slaves, so this moment is bigger than him and all of us.  So please forgive me that I am not talking about makeup for just this one moment so I can breathe and stop for a few seconds to take a look at the new groundbreaking, HISTORY making first family.

Oh....and by the way - think of all the fun we will have figuring out what Michelle and the girls use in their hair and one their skin!  Ladies get ready, we have a new fashion icon in Michelle Obama!

So pat yourself on the back America...you did good.  Now back to your regularly scheduled beauty programming.
