About Lianne
Lianne Farbes is the Founder and Editor in Chief of TheMakeupGirl. She is a Professional Makeup Artist and former successful print and editorial model who has lived in New York and Los Angeles. She has over 20 years of experience working with makeup and skincare and offers "on location" services for clients in the DC Metro area where she is currently based. Lianne was interested in makeup and beauty products at an early age, she has been addicted to Bonne Bell Lip Smackers since she was 9 (she had the one that hung around her neck...), at 13 she graduated to Coty and Maybelline lipstick, then at 16 it was Max Factor, L'Oreal and Lancôme.
It was only after she began modeling that she discovered the art of custom blending from the makeup artists she worked with on a daily basis. That is when she began her quest for the perfect match and the perfect colors. She attended Parsons School of Design in New York, and studied Color Theory and Fashion Merchandising. She began experimenting with custom blending and eventually became a custom blender for Prescriptives, a pioneer in that area. In addition, Lianne has also worked for beauty giants Lancôme, Clarins, and Borghese. She has trained with the best and has a wealth of knowledge in both skincare and makeup.
Lianne started TheMakeupGirl in April of 2006 and it has become one of the fastest growing resources for beauty advice and product reviews on the net. "Lianne's writing has a way of making you feel like you are her best friend and she is over for a girl's night in." says freelance writer and multimedia artist Susan Otto. Lianne has always wanted an outlet to share all of the tips and tricks she learned as a model and beauty professional. A self confessed "product junkie", Lianne loves to try new things and is fully willing to be a guinea pig just for you. She will review anything and write about it. If you have questions you would like answered, you are a PR firm with a product pitch or you would like to submit your products for review, please email Lianne directly here.
