Trend Watch: Deep Purple Nails For Fall...

If you don't know by now, you better ask somebody!!  Deep Eggplant nails are IT for fall.  I just put on mine for Fashion Week and I am IN LOVE. I am really into the darker polishes taht come out in the fall but I am specifically excited about it THIS fall because I adore purple!  Plus there are ao many variations, creme, metallic, frost, sparkle, glitter you name it, one coat or three it will look fabulous.  Here are my picks for the hottest deep purple shades for fall:

Zoya Lianne Polish...

I have completely forgotten that I haven't showed you guys what the polish looks like!!  Please excuse the crappy iPhone photo - I can't find my camera!!  You can see  better pics here.  It looks INSANE on toes for summer and falls right in line with all of the bright colors that are popping up all over the place.

The good thing about the Zoya polishes is that they are Toluene, Formaldehyde and DPB free - so they are safe to use while pregnant or if you have an aversion to nail lacquer with those ingredients.

Beauty By Josi: Stronger nails in 1 week? YES....

I am the supplement QUEEN.  I swear, if I added up all the money I have spent the last 5 years on vitamins I probably could've bought that Chloe bag a long time ago...but really, vitamins have made a HUGE difference in my nails....I mean, I don't have "long" nails but my naturally strong "squa-ovals" are fine by me!

BUT for the last few months my usually strong nails have been increasingly weak....flaking and peeling like paper...my usual basecoats and topcoats weren't working and my manicures lasted like 3 days max! SO last trip to Wallie's I picked up this....Sally Hansen Hard as Wraps Acrylic Gel and started using it about a week ago...2 coats as a base and then 1 over my nail color....WOW! That, combined with Non-Acetone polish remover and my nails are no longer doing that peeling thing..and I can paint them and expect it to last ...FINALLY!

On the final day of my 36 hour whirlwind trip to NYC as a beauty editor for a day, I was treated to the BEST mani/pedi I have had in a LONG time.  We went to Dashing Diva which is a full service salon that offers not only several different levels of manis and pedis but facials and waxing as well.

Remember I told you a while back that Zoya is naming a polish after me??  Zoya has a history of naming their polishes after pop-icons (is that what I am now???) In addition to me there are 5 other lovely beauty bloggers that have polishes as well!

Zoya Is Naming A Nail Polish After Me!!

I just found out that Zoya is naming a nail polish after me! This new collection will also have a number of bloggers included alongside me as well (wahooo!!). 

Although I don't have a lot of details yet - I do know that "Lianne" will be a part of the Chit Chat Collection which is a thank you to bloggers that have supported them over the  years.  The release is sometime in May for the summer collections...I should have more details and a sample sometime soon...

I love clean looking nails.  Just shiny and bare - it's a great look and one that I wear often.  My big issue with most clear polish is that it peels off after a few days...no fun.  So imagine my surprise when I found one that not only does not peel off, it strengthens weak nails too!  I am a recovering acrylic nails wearer so that was a great plus for me, I need all the strength I can get!

Gena Healthy Hoof Lacquer is used by horse trainers - yep you heard right horse trainers.  This is their secret weapon for giving show horses hooves that mirror bright shine.  The product produces an amazing amount of shine and my nails feel stronger after just 2 days.  It also has UV protectants....gotta love that.  My poor little nails will be back to beautiful in no time!  This stuff is great PLUS not pricey...you can pick it up for about $3.

Product Review: Bare Escentuals Mineral Nail Polish

Well you knew it was bound to happen eventually - right??  Mineral Nail Infusion from Bare Escentuals has made it's debut this past November and is off to a great start. 

I got a kit with four cute shades and the boyfriend's 13 year old daughter couldn't keep her hands off it!  Her favorites were "It's Not Red" which is a violet shade with a little shimmer and "Sunny & Share" which is a gold shimmer shade.

We had a little manicure night and I noticed that the polish goes on extra smooth and removes quite easily.  The kit also includes the colors "Tighty Whitey" and "Give Peach a Chance". 

I would love to see this in more colors because the formula is really nice.  Another hit for the Bare Minerals revolution!
